Celebrating 50 Years of Scout Camping

Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley offers a variety of year round acitivies and is available for your Cub Pack, Cub Den, Families, Church, or Corporate event.   Your group can use the archery, BB Range, canoe in the lake, or use the observatory to gaze at the stars.  The Campmaster Corp will help staff the programs of your choice.  Dates, prices, and availability vary so make plans early.

Family Camping: Cub packs and dens are encouraged to take advantage of open camping at Lost Valley. Tent camping or cabins are available, along with food service for groups of 50 or more. Programs such as archery, BB guns, nature hikes, and service projects can be provided.

 Camping:
Scout unit’s camp use fee is $10.00 per person. This covers use of camp and access to restrooms and water, both are nearby, if not in campsite. Most campsites come equipped with kybos (pit toilets), pinic tables, and a water fountain. 

         Building Use: All building deposits are due at camp. All Building Fees are in addition to your camping and program fees.
             Log Cabins: $80.00 (includes heat and electrical); Eight (8) Bunks.
                                $30.00 per cabin cleaning deposit. (Cabin fee is in addition to camp use fee.)

  •     Beckman Hall Conference Facilities: $175 + $300 cleaning deposit.

Program Fees

  •    Archery Range: $2.00 per person + charge for lost arrows
  •    BB Gun Range: $1.00 per person.
  •    Observatory: No charge
  •    Conservation/Service Projects: No charge
  •    Food Service (4 Meals): $30.00 per person (must be pre-arranged)

Holiday Family Camp: Bring your Pack, Den, or family to Memorial and Labor day weekend family camp. All program areas are open. Enjoy horse rides, shooting sports, nature programs, the pools, volleyball, horse shoes, mountain bikes, special activities for young campers and adults, and don’t forget the Big Tex Hay Ride. There is a movie night Saturday evening and the entertaining campfire Sunday evening.

2009 Memorial Day Family Camp: May 22nd-25th, 2009.

2009 Labor Day Family Camp: Septmeber 4th - 7th.

Partner and Pal Weekend: Spend the weekend together camping in tents or the cabins working on Cub belt loops and activity pin advancement. Great food is provided in our dining halls. The cheerful campmaster staff works with the boys in the program areas. Enjoy the evening campfire, entertainment is provided by the boys and staff, followed by a trip to the telescope to gaze at the stars. A great weekend, one that your boys will want to come back to year after year.

Webelos Great Adventure: October 23-25, 2009

Come as a Pack, Den or a Webelos and their adult partner, and get ready for an action packed weekend of archery, BB gun shooting, nature programs and special crafts. This weekend will give your scouts the opportunity to achieve advancement on their activity badges. Complete all of the requirements for the Craftsman and Naturalist Activity Badges, and the Wildlife Conservation, Archery and BB Pins. Webelos Great Adventure Sign Up Form

Valley of the Stars now open to Wolfs and Bears!

Spend four days and three nights having fun, while working on Webelos advancement. Camp in the same campsites and tents the Boy Scouts use and enjoy great food in the dining halls. Swim every day in the pool, shoot archery, BB guns, sling shots, enjoy nature hikes, astronomy, optional camping under the stars, astronomy and much, much more! Complete the requirements for four Activity or Academics Pins including: Naturalist, Aquanaut, Astronomy, Readyman, Archery, BB, and Wildlife Conservation.

The Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America is now accepting Resident Camp registrations for Wolves and Bears at SSRLV.

Council staff has been hearing that many of our Webelos want to invite their younger brothers and Pack friends to camp, and we’d like to accommodate any and all boys who would like to come.

The original early bird rate of $135 has been extended until August 1, so don’t delay in sending in your Resident Camp Claimstake (you may use the current Webelos Resident Camp Claimstake and just make sure to indicate on the form this is for a Wolf or Bear.

Cost:

Webelos- $170 each - Early Bird discount if paid in full by August 1, 2009 is $135.00

Adults- $140 each – Early Bird discount if paid in full by August 1, 2009 is $100.00
